Switcharoo!

In getting Edwin Herbert, the Gators have diminished the vols (a fun, Gator past time), acquired another 4-star recruit, another d-tackle, and another JUCO transfer all in one fell swoop.

Since Fulmer's resigfiring, the vols are hemorrhaging recruits faster than Fulmer snorts krispy kremes.

The 6-3, 285 lb recruit brings Florida's total class of 2009 commitment count to 14, 10 of which are 4-stars. According to rivals.com, the Gators are now ranked 15th for the class of 2009.

This is good considering the Gators still have a game to play-- the National Championship. The Gators' 2009 recruiting class was looking pretty thin this year but has been making significant gains recently. Over the weekend, Jelani Jenkins, a five-star stud linebacker and ranked 3 overall (rivals.com), visited the 'Ville and loved it according to his dad who accompanied him.

I don't know the whole story, but I was told that the Gators don't have that many scholarships left for the 2009 class? Can anyone provide some clarity on this? Anywho, it looks like we're re-upping (which reminds me..) at a fierce pace.

Go re-up.
Go Gators.

that's one big scary fuck. I love him.

No scholarship money? I think the Wall Street Gator needs to donate some of his.

The lack of scholarship money is due to the fact that we have so many freshmen and sophmores that are on scholarship. Alot of people don't realise this but in the WhoOfM game we had the younger team. Younger players mean alot are not graduating or going to the NFL, in which case alot of our scholarships are already being used. This is all a good thing.

Well put my Jewish friend. Our class this year won't rank as high as it should because we have less scholarships to give out. But look at the guys we're getting, they're the best of the best of the best.

Last time I checked the gators had around 22-24 available scholarships for the class of 2009. As of now we have 14 oral commits which leaves 8-10 available scholarships. If the Gators can get Jelani Jenkins and Michael Carter (4-star Rivals CB who was considered the best cornerback at some camps), they will have recruited one hell of a defensive group of players.

On another note, I have not heard of any recruits re-thinking their commitment with the departure of Douche Mullen, which is a good thing but there is still 3 months until signing day.

Go Gators! January 8th is approaching...

Does anyone know how the amount of scholarships is determined and by what authority?

Also, has anyone seen my baseball?

Apparently each DI team gets 85 scholarships. I found some of the rules on this site:

funny story about Kiffin's smoking wife, she is the daughter of John Reaves, former great Gator QB. The Irony is thick.
