Pay It Forward.

UF President Bernard Machen sent out an email last night asking Gator alumni across the world over to help. The University of Florida has taken some major hits in both budget cuts and a shrinking endowment (more on this soon). These cuts have lead to a drop in rankings, researchers bailing, and hiring freezes across the board.

To combat this growing problem, Machen seeks to form a grassroots organization comprised of UF alumni and friends to advocate and harass local, state, and federal legislatures to stop cutting educational funding. Florida has the lowest tuition in the country and has no income tax. How do they do it? The state of Florida subsidizes it, just like your gas, to keep it artificially low. Well, this is coming to an end and the state is expected to see massive tuition increases over the next 5 years with increased student matriculation, but with a decreased overall budget.

The organization is called Gators For Higher Education. It's free to join.

Go Pay It Forward.
Go Gators.

UF4LIFE: The Gators basketball team sucks. They don't deserve to be in the tourney.

Bill: Fuck you, I'm a student.

This guy has Florida at a 6 spot in the tourney playing out of miami. We suck though, I hate Dan Warner, he's garbage and he's only a junior. That is one guy I would love to see gone.
