Dustin Doe was arrested Thursday night for Driving With A Suspended License (DWLS), again. Doe was arrested for the same charge last June and has been suspended from the team for his earlier infraction. At least he's consistent. His court date for the first DWLS is in August. Meyer has stated that Doe will not practice with the team until he resolves his legal issues.
Now, there's likely no way Doe will play the beginning of the season, unless these charges are dropped or disposed of quickly, or the entire linebacking corps suffers some catastrophic injury. Truthfully, these charges are really not that big of a deal on their own, except that Doe was arrested in 2007 for his involvement in a 20-person brawl in a Gainesville parking garage.
I have nothing else to say about this except that Doe's judgment is questionable here. One DWLS is nothing to be upset about and I'd call Meyer's suspension for such a charge an overreaction, but 2 DWLS's in such a short time as grounds for suspension, no question.
Hope the second string is ready to fill the spot.

Are linebackers considered part of the secondary? I didn't think so (thought it was just corners and safeties) but maybe they are.
Sorry. An honest mistake. Our linebackers rarely get into trouble so I naturally thought it was a member of the secondary.
That said, guy is so fast and always coming up with picks that I can argue that he's a de facto member of the secondary.
In any case, it's changed, thanks for the smart ass remarks.
